Guatemala SHB EP El Jaguar
“El Jaguar” is a special blend of some of the best coffees coming from the rainforest area of Alta Verapaz and Baja Verapaz. These two departments are in the north central part of Guatemala. The capital and chief city is Coban.

Alta Verapaz is known for its untouched rainforest where the native jaguar and the national bird “quetzal” live in their natural habitat. It is a cloudy, rainy and cool forest.

The coffee plantations in the region profit from very high humidity and year round rainfalls as well as temperatures that range from 15 to 20°. The ground water is crystal clear, like the one seen in the Cahabon River that runs through the Verapaces region. The coffee plants grow on limestone and clay soil, typical to the atlantic coastal of Guatemala and profit from the shade of the native Inga tree.
